Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 26, 2026

ALM Legal, LLC ("ALM Legal," "the firm," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through alm-legal.com and our online intake and scheduling tools (collectively, the "Site"), how we use and share it, and the choices you have.

Please read first. Submitting information through this Site — including the case-review questionnaire — does not create an attorney-client relationship and is not protected by the attorney-client privilege. Please do not send confidential, sensitive, or time-sensitive details until a relationship is established by a signed engagement agreement.

1 Information we collect

Information you provide

When you use our case-review questionnaire, request or book a consultation, or otherwise contact us, you may provide: your name, email address, and phone number; your jurisdiction and the practice area of your matter; a description of your situation; scheduling preferences; and any other information you choose to share.

Payment information

When a consultation requires a fee, payment is processed through Clio Payments, the payment service integrated with our practice-management provider, Clio. Your full payment-card details are provided directly to the payment processor; ALM Legal does not collect or store full card numbers.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, we may automatically collect limited technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, and referring pages, including through cookies and similar technologies [and analytics tools such as Google Analytics, if used — confirm and name].

2 How we use your information

3 How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to operate the firm and the Site, including with:

4 Cookies & analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to make the Site work and to understand how it is used. You can usually control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect some features. [If you use Google Analytics or similar, disclose it here and link any opt-out.]

5 Data retention

We keep personal information for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes described above and to meet our legal, regulatory, and professional record-keeping obligations, after which we delete or de-identify it. Inquiry information from people who do not become clients is retained for [retention period, e.g., 12 months] unless a longer period is required.

6 Data security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not transmit confidential information through the Site.

7 Your privacy choices and rights

You may ask us to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, or to stop contacting you, by emailing us at the address below. Depending on your state of residence, you may have additional rights — for example, residents of California and certain other states may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (note again that we do not sell personal information). [Confirm which state-specific privacy laws apply to your visitors — e.g., California (CCPA/CPRA) and Washington — and tailor this section accordingly.]

Please note that our professional and ethical obligations may require us to retain certain records even after a deletion request.

8 Children's privacy

The Site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where applicable). We do not knowingly collect information from children. Where a matter concerns a minor (for example, an education or guardianship matter), we expect the information to be provided by a parent, guardian, or other authorized adult.

9 Third-party links and services

The Site may link to or rely on third-party services (such as Google and Clio). Their handling of your information is governed by their own privacy policies, not this one.

10 Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent version, and material changes will be posted on this page.
